#MICROSOFT OUTLOOK 2010 SEARCH NOT WORKING UPGRADE#
(As a detail: the two Included LocationsĪre /users/ and Outlook and all File Types are selected.)Īny suggestions for things for me to try to make the system behave as it did until several days ago would be greatly welcomed.ĭid you do any specific operations before this search issue occurred (such as upgrade your Outlook or windows version)? I let this run overnight and in the morning it said completed and Outlook->Search Tools->Search Options->Indexing Options said Indexing Completed. I checked that Windows Indexing was started (from services.msc)Īnd then commanded the system to Delete and Rebuild Index.

In an attempt to resolve this issue, I turned off Windows Search (from Control Panel->Programs and Features->Turn Windows features on or off), rebooted, turned on Windows Searching, and rebooted. After about 20 minutes, it started showing the newer messages and eventually found the first email in my inbox.

In general, it seems to showĢ017 and older emails, before the newer emails. After 15 minutes of searching, 1) Outlook had not yet found that email and 2) the newest email it showed was one from four months ago. However, starting just several days ago, the search function is not working as it should.įor example, I just searched on a word in the subject line of the first email in my inbox. I have MS Outlook 2010 and it has worked almost flawlessly since it was installed a decade ago.
